Wednesday

Okay, well, Wednesday was full o' fun! I had a lazy morning at home...which is what I am doing right now too - ha ha! Mel had one more day before she was leaving to drive to Seattle and go on a vacation with one of her mission friends and her family. So...Wednesday was more Elise And Melody time.

We ended up spending that time on a...wait, are you sitting down girls? On a DATE! Yup, I know, gross, ugh, ew! But yes, Mel and I went out with a couple of good looking boys on a date. They were brothers, from Kooski Idaho. Mel had met one of them a few weeks ago, and he called her up and asked if he could take her out, and then yesterday morning called and said his brother was in town and that she should bring a friend and make it a double date. So....we met up with them in Lewiston Idaho and had a picnic at a really cute little park, had a SPEED tournament (have I taught you that game yet???) and then went and played a Walmart game.

This is how the game worked: We split up as couples - so Mel and Than vs. Elise and Mitch - and had ten minutes to go around Walmart and collect ten random items in our baskets. We met up by electronics, switched baskets, and had a race to see who could put the other items back first. Guess what? Elise and Mitch LOST! BOO! We only had one thing left, though, so we were close :). It was fun running around walmart looking like we were lost or trying to find something we lost...ha ha!

When Mel and I got back to Colfax, we went to my brother's house for dinner with some friends and family. I had so much fun playing with my little neice, Avery. She is getting close to 11 months, and she is SOOOOO much fun! She can say little words, like Book and Dog and Mama. And she has the cutest grin and laugh! I laid down on the floor and let her sit on me - she was like a little dentist, playing with my teeth and tongue and stuff - it was pretty funny. At one point, she let out a big thing of drool - luckily it landed on my face but not in my mouth - it was very close to a "Gross! Your mouth was OPEN!!!" moment!

I'm glad I got to say hi to Adylee on the phone last night - I miss you guys and hope you are having a great time! Enjoy these pictures of Avery and Mel!!!

Tuesday

Hey guys -
So, I sadly don't have more pictures for you yet - I will have to take lots today and post them for you tomorrow...But here's what I did on Tuesday -

My Mom works at Whitman County Library which is on Main Street in Colfax. (Colfax is the county seat, or capital of Whitman County). The library was just remodeled, so I went down and my Mom gave me a tour of all the new stuff they have. There is one part you guys would have loved - it's a children's book area called Hayden's Corner. Hayden was a little boy who was killed in an accident a couple of years ago. He loved to read, so his family and the library worked together to create an area of the library where kids can come and read. They had a fake tree made that comes up out of the ground and goes up to the ceiling and has lots of branches and leaves. There are stuffed animals like snakes and monkeys and tree frogs up in the branches, and couches, pillows, and beanbags to sit on. Someday when you guys come to Colfax you'll have to see it!

I spent the rest of the morning visiting some people around Colfax. I went to the store where I worked in High School - it's called Tick Klock Drug Store (they sell medicine and gifts) and talked with a bunch of people. I went to pick up my brother at the bank where he works, to take him to lunch, and saw all sorts of people I know. They even pointed out that a candy dish I made for someone a REALLY long time ago was still there - HA! I had totally forgot about it! I took my bro to lunch and the kid who was making our sandwiches is a high schooler who is in my Dad's plays, so I knew who he was, but he surprised me when he knew my name! I love this town - everyone knows my name! :)

After dinner with my parents, Mel and I went to play basketball with some people in our ward. It ended up being a bunch of old dudes, a couple of Jr. high boys and us. It was really fun and really funny to play with the old guys. At least once or twice I bounced off this one guys big, huge belly when I accidentally ran into him - ha ha! Fun Stuff!

Well, more later - I hope you guys are having a blast in UTAH! Miss you!

Monday

Okay, chiquitas, I am home in WA now - and it is B-E-A-UTIFUL here! The wheat fields are golden and being harvested left and right, the sky is blue and the air is so CLEAN - I LOVE IT! Just wish all of you guys were here with me! :) I decided I'd write a blog for you every day and post some pictures so you can see what I'm doing while I'm here - so enjoy!

Okay, so on Monday, I went out to Endicott WA and spent the day with Melody, working with her and hanging out with her family. Endicott is where Mel grew up. It's a town of about 300 people or so...so everybody knows everybody! For the summer, Mel reclaimed her old job of working for the Endicott school district in grounds maintenance. She mows the lawn/football feild, waters, rakes the gravel on the playground...stuff like that. Yesterday, I helped her spray paint the railings of some bridges they have between the playground and the football feild. We also repainted the basketball hoops - the poles, backboards, rims and all. By the time I was done, I was speckled with silver spray paint and my right hand looked like I purposed dipped it in orange basketball hoop paint, and I had almost wet my pants about a billion times laughing at/with Melody. It was a GREAT day! That night we met up with our good friend Amelie and went to a BBQ at a place called Wawaii Park on the Snake River. It was so pretty!

The picture I posted is one of the fields between Colfax and Endicott - more pictures to come later :) Have a great day!
